After the Light - a new original album

This project was an incredible labor of love, recorded mostly during a very difficult pregnancy. I'm so grateful to finally be able to share it with you all at a time when its themes feel newly relevant and important.
 
This album is about despair, and about hope, and how they can coexist.  Many of these songs were written as a tool to cope with living through the decline of democracy amidst a global pandemic, while navigating the transition into parenthood; celebrating the joy my children have brought into my life alongside the terrible fear of what world we are making for them.  It was written while working to rebuild my relationship with my own body, trying to understand its power and its vulnerability and its place in the chaos of the world.  There is anger, and there is grief. And there is possibility.  There are "sparks of color".
 
In this coldest, darkest time of the year, in a cold and dark time in the world, it is my deepest hope that this music helps make space for your own dread and grief, your numbness and your rage, while perhaps reminding you of your connection to your own power, and the wild joy of existence that is possible when we allow ourselves to truly see and be seen.
