Join Zen teacher Melissa Myozen Blacker and her daughter, voice teacher and recording artist Rachel Blacker Rynick for a day of exploring what is possible when you stop listening to your fear and start feeling your voice.  Through group meditation and vocal exploration, gentle guidance and helpful information about the anatomy of the human voice, you will learn to stay open and present to the joy and ease of using your voice openly and freely to speak, sing, or chant.  No experience necessary!

About the teachers: 

Melissa Myozen Blacker, Roshi is a guiding teacher and the abbot of Boundless Way Zen.  She has a private practice in contemplative counseling, and for 20 years was a teacher and trainer of teachers at Jon Kabat-Zinn’s Center for Mindfulness at the University of Massachusetts Medical School.  Before becoming a psychotherapist, she was a voice and piano teacher and vocalist.   

Rachel Blacker Rynick, MM is a voice teacher, vocologist, singer, and songwriter.  Trained in classical voice, jazz voice, and pop/rock, she has also extensively studied the science and health of voice production.  At her studio, Intrinsic Voice, she offers private and semi-private voice lessons to students of all ages, levels, and backgrounds, allowing them to build strength and confidence in using their voices to express the music in their hearts.  Rachel also records and performs her own original rock music in the greater Boston area.
